Gbenga Bamidele BA (Hons)

Gbenga Bamidele is a highly experienced Youth Worker and Learning Mentor with specialist skills in the area of working with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

His background in primary and secondary schools and Alternative Education units, where he fulfilled a Mentoring and Learning Support role, successfully ensured that curriculums and their learning objectives were achieved by pupils. He has a patient and empathetic approach that makes him trusted and well-liked by pupils and colleagues. He is proficient in current youth work theory and practice after achieving a BA Honours degree in Youth Work from Staffordshire University. He has exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and leadership ability.

Gbenga is a registered practitioner and Director for the Coach Mentoring Programme in Thurrock which is endorsed by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation. He currently runs mentoring Sessions in schools within the Thurrock area:  Hathaway Academy in Grays, Harris Academy, Chafford Hundred and Ormiston Park Academy on behalf of the Ascend Centre.

Gbenga has written and delivered various youth clubs and programmes including a 10-week Self Esteem Workshop piloted at The Gateway Academy, Grays.

Oby Bamidele (MBACP)

Oby is an experienced and qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is registered with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

She is a down to earth, people centric youth worker and counsellor with extensive experience of providing support, rehabilitation and guidance to young people and adults who have experienced trauma and difficult life experiences.  She has a proven ability to engage, empathise and support young people to build resilience, achieve growth and change whilst retaining an objective and realistic approach to their treatment and therapy.

Oby has extensive experience of counselling young people on the following issues: self-harm, suicide ideation, abuse and trauma, eating disorders, self-esteem and self-image, bereavement; pregnancy and abortion.

Oby currently offers schools counselling services to schools and organisations within Essex areas. Her work with young people spans ages 9 to 18.
